Between Trick-or-Treat and the Tree Lighting, Nazareth's Calendar Moves to Jacobsburg and Belvidere Street

Borough Council approved Nazareth's 2026 downtown event schedule in March. On that schedule, the Fall Festival on South Main Street on Oct. 17 is followed by nothing until the tree lighting in the Circle on Dec. 11, according to The Home News. The Nazareth Farmers Market runs its regular Saturday season in the Circle from May through October, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. After Trick or Treat Night on Saturday, Oct. 31, the borough's center has no scheduled event for roughly six weeks.

The rest of the calendar keeps going. It moves to two addresses a few miles apart. Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center has posted a fall slate in which most November programs are marked "New." The Nazareth Center for the Arts at 30 Belvidere Street has an evening on most weeks. Taken together, they hold more of Nazareth's fall than the downtown event schedule does.

The Circle Steps Back

The handoff starts at the end of the month. Nazareth Borough's trick-or-treat hours are 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. Borough leaf collection began the week of Oct. 19 and runs through the third week of December. The borough asks for leaves to be left loose at the curb, not bagged.

For anyone driving south toward Easton or Palmer, Route 33 is still under construction. PennDOT is replacing the southbound bridge over the Bushkill Creek that connects Palmer Township to Stockertown, and work is slated to run through Monday, Nov. 9, lehighvalleylive.com reported. Until then, southbound traffic between Stockertown and Tatamy is diverted into a single lane across the median and over the new northbound bridge. The work started a month late, and the end date moved back with it. That puts the reopening in the first half of the stretch this post covers.

Jacobsburg's New November

Jacobsburg's fall programs begin Saturday, Oct. 24, and run for a month. Several are listed as new, and many ask for advance registration through the DCNR events calendar.

Date Program Time Listing notes
Sat., Oct. 24 All About Autumn Hike 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Registration
Sat., Oct. 24 Who Gives a Hoot? 7 to 8:30 p.m. Registration
Fri., Oct. 30 Project FeederWatch Citizen Science and Monitor Training 10 a.m. to noon Free
Sat., Nov. 7 Exploring Henrys Woods 9 to 11 a.m. New
Sat., Nov. 7 Winter Tree ID 1:30 to 3 p.m. New
Fri., Nov. 20 Family Film Night: My Life as a Turkey 6 to 7:30 p.m. New, free
Sat., Nov. 21 My Dear Général, presentation by author Jeffrey Finegan 10 to 11:15 a.m. New, $10

The calendar also lists free Lehigh Gap Story virtual-reality sessions on Tuesday, Nov. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 3.

The order of the programs follows the season. October's hike is about autumn and the owl program runs after dark. On Nov. 7, Jacobsburg pairs a morning in Henrys Woods with an afternoon of Winter Tree ID, during the same weeks the borough is collecting leaves from the curb. The Finegan talk is about the relationship between George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette.

Most of these slots fall on Saturdays, the day the Circle used to hold the market.

Belvidere Street After Dark

Jacobsburg covers Saturday mornings and afternoons. The Nazareth Center for the Arts covers weeknights and Friday nights. Its building at 30 Belvidere Street is also the gallery where the Nazareth Economic Development Commission held its second-Saturday winter markets earlier in 2026.

The fall listings:

  • Wed., Oct. 28: Poetry Workshop
  • Fri., Oct. 30: Songwriters in the Round, a free concert
  • Wed., Nov. 4: LV Fiber Friends afternoon meetup, one of several dates on the calendar
  • Fri., Nov. 6: Concert, Friends of the Art Center
  • Wed., Nov. 11: Open Mic Night
  • Thu., Nov. 19: LV Fiber Friends
  • Wed., Dec. 2: Photography Club
  • Sat., Dec. 12: Concert, The Beautiful Distortion
  • Sun., Dec. 13: Winter Solargraphy Workshop

Several dates overlap between the two calendars. Friday, Oct. 30 has FeederWatch training at Jacobsburg in the morning and Songwriters in the Round on Belvidere Street that night. Friday, Nov. 6 brings the Friends of the Art Center concert, and Saturday, Nov. 7 brings the Henrys Woods walk and Winter Tree ID. Nov. 20 and 21 put a free family film and a $10 history talk on back-to-back days. Thanksgiving week is the lightest, and it still has Jacobsburg's VR session on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

The Weekday Errands That Shifted

The rest of the season's changes are in the errands.

The Giant at 859 Nazareth Pike in Lower Nazareth Township finished a renovation of several months and held its grand reopening in early October. The store stayed open throughout the work, lehighvalleylive.com reported. The deli and prepared foods departments were rebuilt with more hot food, including smoked meats, and more Grab 'n Go items. Beer and wine moved to the front corner, and floral moved near the registers. The pharmacy was redesigned with a consultation room for giving vaccines in private. The store has served the Nazareth area since 2001 and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

"The Nazareth store team is ready to help customers find the solutions they need whether quick and easy meal ideas for families or ways to save for your upcoming celebrations," store manager Joe Cruz told lehighvalleylive.com.

The Borough Dog Park on Black Rock Road has new play equipment and has been refurbished, an Eagle Scout project by Oliver Pellegrino, according to the borough. With leaves coming down and Henrys Woods busy on program mornings, it is the closest fenced option in the borough.

For guests visiting over the holidays, Martin Guitar lists its Visitor Center and museum at 510 Sycamore Street. They are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the museum may close temporarily for filming. Martin's posted 2026 closures are Nov. 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving and Dec. 24 through Jan. 1 for winter break. Factory tours run weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and require advance online registration. That leaves the weeks of Nov. 30 through Dec. 23 as the main December window for a weekday visit.

Dec. 11 and 12 Bring the Circle Back

The quiet stretch ends with two consecutive days downtown. "Claus Comes to the Circle" pairs with the tree lighting at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11. Christmas in Nazareth follows on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the downtown and Circle area. The council approval calls for restricted and reserved parking on the east side of South Main Street, from the Circle to the YMCA, during the Saturday event.

The Moravian Historical Society is planning free family activities for Dec. 12:

  1. A holiday market with local artisans
  2. Food trucks
  3. Free crafts for kids
  4. The annual putz display
  5. Historic Nazareth Walking Tours
  6. Music in the Museum

A putz is a detailed miniature Nativity display. It can tell biblical stories beyond the birth itself and often uses lights and narration, as a Glencairn Museum feature describes it.

That same Saturday night, The Beautiful Distortion plays the Nazareth Center for the Arts. On Sunday, Dec. 13, the Arts Center holds its Winter Solargraphy Workshop.
